House Rules

In the world

1. You are a person in 1899, the whole time you are connected. Not a player with a character attached. Anything that belongs to the person at the keyboard belongs in the Discord, not in the street.
2. Your life is worth something, and so is everyone else's. A character with a gun to their head does what they are told. Riding at three armed men because you have a plan is not bravery, it is a way of telling everybody that nothing here has stakes.
3. Violence needs a reason and a lead up. Robbery, revenge, a grudge, a debt, an argument in a saloon that got out of hand: all fine. Shooting a stranger in the road because they were there is not roleplay, it is target practice, and the law will not be the only thing that comes for you.
4. Do not use what you know out of character. A stream, a Discord voice call or a friend's message is not something your character heard. If you watch someone else play, you do not know where they are.
5. Do not do things your character could not do. No hopping onto a horse mid gunfight and out of a scene, no bottomless satchel of pistols, no forgetting a broken leg the second the scene is over.
6. Finish what you start. Every scene ends somewhere: jailed, robbed, patched up, run out of town. See it through. If you genuinely have to leave, say so out of character and let people wrap up around you.
7. Death is not an exit. Going down is two minutes on the ground and, if you are lucky, a doctor. Quitting while you are down does nothing at all: the clock is held on the server and stops while you are away, so you come back exactly as broken as you left.
8. Being arrested is a story. Cuffs, a cell, work in the yard and a walk out the front. It is short by design. Logging off to skip it is the one thing on this list that will be treated as cheating rather than as bad roleplay.

At the keyboard

1. Bigotry is not a character trait here. Racism, homophobia, transphobia and the rest are not welcome in character or out of it. There is no version of this where "my character would say that" is the end of the conversation.
2. Get consent for the heavy things. Torture, sexual content and anything to do with the abuse of children have no place in a scene here. The first two need everybody involved to have agreed out of character beforehand; the third is a permanent removal with no appeal.
3. Take the loss without taking it out on the person. Being robbed, shot, arrested or beaten is the server working. Bringing it into Discord as an argument with the player who did it is the fastest way to be asked to leave.
4. One character at a time. Five slots exist so you can be more than one person over months, not so a bank account can be shared between them. What one of your characters knows and owns is theirs.
5. Names are period, and only letters. Two to twenty letters, with apostrophes and hyphens allowed. No digits, no spaces inside a single name, and nothing that reads as staff, as a system message or as a joke about 2026. The server enforces the shape; a person enforces the taste.

Cheating, and what the server already knows

1. No cheats, no injectors, no menus. Script hook is switched off server side, so the usual single player tools will not load while you are connected. Trying anyway is a ban, not a warning.
2. Report a bug, do not farm it. If a shop, a bank or a bench pays out something it should not, tell us. Every transaction that moves money is written to a ledger, so a duplication bug leaves a trail with a name on it, and the difference between the person who reported it and the person who ran it four hundred times is obvious from the outside.
3. Your account is yours. Do not share it, do not sell it, and do not play on somebody else's while they are banned. The server recognises you by your Rockstar account, so a fresh Discord is not a fresh start.
4. Nothing here is for sale. Do not sell in game money, items, horses or characters for real money, and do not buy them. It is an instant removal for everybody involved.

When something goes wrong

Take it to the Discord, in a ticket, with the time it happened and who was there. Not in the general channels, and not at the person in the street. Screenshots and clips help enormously and are the difference between a decision and a coin toss.

Every decision is made by a person, and every person can be wrong. An appeal is another ticket, and it is read by somebody other than whoever made the call where that is possible. The one thing that will not be reconsidered is the child abuse line above.

Staff hold no advantage in the world. Nobody spawns money, items or horses for themselves or for a friend; the tools staff use are on the web panel rather than in the game, which is deliberate and is the reason it was built that way. Who runs it, and how to reach them.

If it is not written down

Then use the spirit of it, which is this: everybody else here is trying to have a good evening in the same world you are. Rules exist to stop the small number of people who need them from ruining that, and they will be added to when somebody finds a new way to.

These rules can change. When they do it is announced in the Discord rather than quietly edited here, because a rule you did not know about is not a rule.
