Who runs it, and how to raise something
There are two kinds of law here and they have nothing to do with each other. One wears a star in 1899 and can be shot. The other reads your ticket, has no character in the scene, and cannot give anybody a dollar.
The short answer
The Pub is one person's server. The framework, every system on The Frontier, the website you are reading and the panel behind it were written for this server by its owner, which is why they fit together and why there is nobody else to blame when they do not.
The RedM server is the second house. The first is The Pub on FiveM, which has been running for years, and the two share an owner and a Discord and nothing else.
The team around it is small and is being put together as the server gets closer to opening. Names and handles are not listed on this page yet, deliberately: a page of names that is three weeks out of date is worse than no page at all. The current roster is the staff role in the Discord, which is always right by definition.
Deliberately narrow
Every server has a story about the admin who gave his friend a wagon of gold. The answer to it here is architectural rather than a promise: the powers mostly do not exist in the game.
Only the owner's own account is granted a staff group in the game, whatever the server configuration or the hosting panel says about anybody else. That is the gate on the commands that hand out money, set a job, or move somebody across the map. Everyone else is an ordinary player while they are connected.
Approvals, bans, reports and the allowlist live on the web panel rather than in the game. It is built that way on purpose: a moderator needs to read a report and act on it, not to be standing invisibly in a saloon holding a wand.
Money moves through one system, and every movement is written to a ledger with a reason attached. That is there to catch duplication bugs, and it catches favours just as well. A staff member cannot quietly make somebody rich, including themselves.
With the same satchel, the same empty pockets and the same two minutes on the ground as anybody else. A staff character can be robbed and can be arrested, and if you have a problem with something a staff character did in a scene, that is a ticket like any other.
There is one door, and it is the Discord. Open a ticket. Not the general channels, not a direct message to whoever was online, and not the person themselves in the middle of the street.
A person reads it. You will be told the outcome, though not necessarily what was done to somebody else, because that is their business. If the decision went against you and you think it was wrong, say so in another ticket: appeals are read by somebody other than whoever made the call wherever that is possible.
Losing a fight, losing money, losing a horse, or being arrested. All of those are the server working as designed. A rule being broken is different, and the rules are short enough to check first.
The other kind
A job in the world, held by a player, with a paycheck and a rank. It has no authority over anybody at the keyboard and it can be shot off a horse like anyone else. These posts are given out rather than picked up from a board, because a badge nobody vouched for is not worth wearing.
Deputy to US Marshal
Five ranks. Deputy, Senior Deputy, Under-Sheriff, Sheriff, and US Marshal. A Sheriff and above works the whole territory rather than one county, and everybody on duty draws a wage.
Novice to Legendary
Not the law, and paid nothing for turning up. They work the same board the sheriff does, take a contract off it so two hunters are not chasing one poster, and get more for a man brought in alive than for one brought in over a saddle.
Nurse to Chief Physician
The most useful job on the server and the only one that reliably makes friends. A doctor is paid per patient on top of the wage, and a nurse can revive from the first day on the job.
Teller and Manager
Somebody has to be behind the counter of a vault with a real balance in it. Also given out rather than taken up, for reasons that should be obvious to anybody who has read how the wire transfers work.
Every other trade on the server is picked up freely: blacksmith, gunsmith, miner, hunter, farmer, butcher, herbalist, bartender, stable hand and courier. You start as a drifter, which is not a job so much as an absence of one.
Asked often enough to answer here
There is no staff application form, and there is not going to be one before the server opens. Moderating a roleplay server is a job for people who are already part of it and are known to be steady, and neither of those can be established by a questionnaire.
If that changes it will be said in the Discord. In the meantime, the useful thing is to play, and to be the person other people are pleased to see ride in.
The Discord is the whole of the front office. Entry is a short application there, read by a person.
